Our new series, “The Reader’s Antidote”, is year-long project that hopes to remedy this by inviting creative minds from all over the world to recommend their favourite book and respond to it in their own artistic ways. We hope this might just inspire you to step into the unknown and enjoy an adventure of a lifetime.

About the Artist: Niki Usagi
Niki Usagi was born in Budapest, Hungary in 1987. She has been a self-taught artist since childhood, using mainly traditional materials such as acrylic, gouache, pencil, ink and paper. Her most recent work is based on paper cut techniques. Inspired by Cubism, Fauvism and Expressionism, she incorporates bold colours with geometric shapes to create unusual combinations. Usagi currently lives and works in London.

選書人介紹： Niki Usagi
1987年出生於匈牙利布達佩斯，Niki Usagi從小便對藝術充滿熱忱，更自學成為一位藝術家。她主要以塑膠彩、水粉、鉛筆、墨水等顏料在紙上作畫，她的近作展現了強烈的剪紙風格。同時受到立體主義、野獸派和表現主義等影響，她喜歡把強烈顏色與幾何圖案交織創出不一般的圖案。Niki現在長居在英國倫敦。
